About Weather Models
Weather models are mathematical simulations that predict atmospheric conditions. Each model has different strengths:
- GFS - NOAA's global model, updated every 6 hours, good for 7-16 day forecasts
- ECMWF - European model, generally most accurate for medium-range forecasts
- NAM - North American Mesoscale, better regional detail for 3-day forecasts
- HRRR - High-Resolution Rapid Refresh, best for next 18 hours in the US
- ICON - German global model, excellent for European weather
